Ok many years ago I go all of this stuff. It is like cardboard or even a thick mat board. It is shiny on one side. I have used it for odds and ends stuff, but does anyone have any great ideas for this stuff I would love to hear them. Thanks.
How big is it? Could be great for a loom!! If it is smaller..use it with 2nd grade and do a ribbon or fabric weaving. You will probably have to notch the loom...but...could work!
If it's thick enough you could use it to make printmaking plates, cut it up to print lines with the edges or use it to do pulled paint pictures. you could also use it in multi-media pieces, cut, stack and glue pieces for a raised area in an abstract. Oh, the possibilities.... :)
I do have notch looms. They are all different sizes. I have used them before for printmaking. The only thing is the younger ones cant cut it really well. And glue doesn't really stick to the shiny sides. Hmmmmm... I know many things to do with it. But what....
I love the book cover idea, and I like the idea of making printmaking plates - draw on them with glue, or make collograph plates with assorted textural surfaces. Usethemas bases for collages or little sculptures, or use them shiny side up as a surface to work on when working with clay. Roll or paint ink on them (shiny side) and draw into it to make a plate for monoprinting. Or use the the shiny side for a palette for mixing colors!
I would do a book making unit and use them for book covers, cut some into texture combs and use the larger ones as canvas to make triptych paintings
