Well ok here is my first version of the Elf on the shelve. I will have another elf coming soon. The only thing is different is the shelve will be 3d.
We started working on the background we made a picture frame. I had the students put what ever they want in the frame. Then we made lines for the wallpaper. Then we made the shelve where are wonderful elf sits. We just used construction paper for the elf. The students really liked making it because it seem they they all have an elf at home.

The city in the sky

Well i did this for the first time with my 2nd grader. We talked about the intermediate colors. They thought it was cool how you could do that with the paint. But when it came time for them to do it that was whole another story. Instead of kids just pulling the paint in on direction they were pulling and pushing. So I must try this again with an older class. But some of them did a great job designing there city/castle in the sky.

The hated sweater.

Ok I have this sweater my wife really hates. I have had this sweater for many years. So I thought it was about time to get ride of it. But being the me and I can turn just about nothing into something. I figure I would start working on a Xmas gift for my wife. So I know she never looks at my blog so i would share this with all of you. The hated sweater has now became a brand new purse for her. I cut up the sweater and got out the sewing machine and made this wonderful purse she is going to love/hate.

3d spooky houses

My student love that there houses pop out of the paper and they were 3d.

3d scarecrows

Ok first of all this was a pinterest find. We took a 12"x18" blue paper and painted the corn. Then used different colored bags for the heads. My 1st grader did some cutting and gluing which is good. I have gotten a lot of comments from the staff on how cut they are. So here they are over and out

Zoomed in on pumpkins

Ok I found this somewhere not how I found it, but I know I found it on a blog I think it was chuck and crayon (I will double check on that and get the link for everyone). Anyway I really enjoyed how they look. So this is how I did it first I had my student draw a whole pumpkins. Then we made a view finder and the student got to pick what the thought was the must fun to draw. Then I showed them how to make there drawing bigger (zooming in on the pumpkin). We colored them in with oil pastels.
