5th Grade Portraits in the style of Jean Dubuffet Two Different Ways

I saw this lesson on Hands, Head'n Heart.  I never seen this painting by Jean Dubeffet before but I like it... So I wanted to try it.  I did it with my 5th grades.. We need it two different ways.

1.  We had foam head and the student painted them in the same style of Dubeffet.
2.  We used paper and cut out all the shapes to make the portrait

Both were fun and were changing for my students.  Thanks for the great lesson.

sorry the picture are a bit yellow.. not sure what happen

Art Project, powered by Google

As I sit at home again because of the STORM of the CENTURY....and another snow day. I went to google and saw this.  Art Projects.

"Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces."

I only fooled around with it for a few mins., but it seem really neat.  give it a looksee.

1st Grade Andy Warhol Soup Cans

I have been doing this project for years.  It is a great 1-3 week project and there are many different ways I have done it.  This year I went with paint.  It was one white 12"x18" paper that we folded in half and painted the part red, and we also paint a littler piece of paper yellow.  If we didnt have snowday I would have also like to painted gray. I like to personalized the cans by using thier last names.  I go on Word and print all thier name in Font that is close to the Campbells logo.  Then I draw a line around the name so the students know where to cut it out.  When I do this project I dont tell them what we are making, but I give them clues.  They have alot of fun with it.
